So it has been a while since I last posted but quite a bit has happened in between then. I have now been in college for over 8 weeks and a lot of great times have happened! I have made so many great memories in just a short time, so I decided to share some of the big ones with you.
Alright, so first thing is first, I must tell you about my first week with the RFCs! During the first week of school, the RFCs have a contest that they call the RFC Olympics. It is a way were some of the new people can become more apart of the group and also have some friendly competition. Before the school year I had been worried about going to a non-christian college and worried that it would be harder to keep my faith, especially away from my parents. That fear was taken away for good, however, during this week. The RFCs were just the people I needed in my life, and that week was so much fun. From a scavenger hunt, to bigger or better, and a track and field day, the RFC Olympics were the perfect way to start my college life.
Another thing to mention would be our Freshman devos! Every Monday, Steve, the campus minister, has a devo just for the freshman (or transfers) so they can get to know each other better. These devos are some of the best times of my week. Not only do we have great lessons, but also have quite a bit of fun as well! I think we have only gotten through about one lesson completely, but we all have a great time during it. And afterwards, we all usually go eat and hang out, so it's always a good time. Too bad our chemistry tests get in the way sometimes. Stupid Chemistry....
Another thing of mention would be my first all nighter of college. And no, it wasn't to study for a test or finish a paper, but rather to pull a prank! One Thursday night, me and 3 other guys decided to fill up one of the rooms in the RFC house with over a thousand balloons! We started around 8 or 9 at night and finished at about 5 in the morning. During the night, we made trips to different places and had an amazing time. The next day I had an 830 class so I went, fell asleep for over half, and then woke up and aced a quiz. Yeah, I'm that good. When I got back, Steve still hadn't shown up so we waited until he got there. When he did, he saw the balloons and then ran and jumped into them. We then proceed to play and run through the balloons for about a half hour. It was awesome!
Next, another great night was the night of semi-epic meal time! If you have never seen epic meal time, look it up on YouTube, NOW! Me and two other RFC guys decided that we wanted to make a bacon weave like they do on the show. One of the other guys came up with the idea to not just do the bacon weave, but rather make a whole dish of food. So then we got the supplies and headed to his girlfriends house. The finished product was 12 taco bell hard shell tacos, cheese, mac and cheese with taco bell fire sauce, cheese, a bacon weave and summer sausage, and then finally more cheese. We then cut it up and crammed our mouths with it! ( I almost puked, but just because I choked not because it was bad). It was so good! We plan to do more in the future.
And finally, to top it all off, I went to the World Series! It was game three in Texas and boy was it awesome. The tickets were 400 each for me and my dad, but by the end of the night it ended up being way worth it. Albert, the best player in baseball, hit three homers!!!! And I saw each one of them, in person! It was one of the best experiences I will ever have in my lifetime. I just hope they sign him so I can still be a Cardinals fan. :p.
So all in all, college has been fantastic. Leading devos, camping out for football games, and painting up are also some great things that have happened. Oh, and I still have all A's, no big deal. And with all this going my way, there is no reason for me not to just lay back and keep smiling. :)
